Radio Communications Act 1992
All mobile phone base stations are required to comply with strict regulations and many of these are administered by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) under the Radiocommunications Act 1992.

Radiocommunications (Electromagnetic Radiation – Human Exposure) Standard 2003
This Standard is base on the public and occupational limits that have been set by the Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA), an agency of the Federal Government. The Standard is often referred to as the “ARPANSA Standard” or the “Radiation Protection Standard”. The Standard can be viewed here; http://www.acma.gov.au/WEB/STANDARD/pc=PC_2798

Radiocommunications Licence Conditions (Apparatus Licence) Determination 2003
This Standard makes compliance with the condition of a carrier’s licence. Carriers operating mobile base stations require a licence to do so and compliance with the licence conditions is mandatory.
