The EMF Explained Series is an information resource referencing national and international health agenices and was developed by AMTA in conjunction with the GSM Association and Mobile Manufacturers Forum. It has been updated to reflect the latest timetable for the WHO's EMF project.

The RFNSA database of mobile base stations in Australia has been upgraded for the public to show nearby sites on the location map and in an interactive listing beside the map. The public can use a mouse to scroll over base stations on the map and this automatically highlights the site details in the listing.

A new EME Safe Work Procedures Page for each mobile base station site in Australia launches this week on the RFNSA providing basic OH&S information to people required to access or work near base stations.

Australian consumers clearly enjoy the benefits of their mobile phones, with more than 31 million mobile services now in operation in Australia (about 1.4 services per person!). Smartphones are now owned by almost 50% of the Australian population, making use of advanced mobile services and applications such as social media, video downloads, email and apps.

The Mobile Carriers Forum this week attended the Smart Power for Smart Communications Networks 2013 conference in Brisbane to provide participants at this national energy efficiency forum an update on the MCF’s Energy Efficiency Training Program pilot, which concluded last year.
