Low-impact facilities do not require Council Development Approval and therefore prior to the introduction of the ACIF Code there was no obligation or requirement for Carriers to engage with Councils, nor the wider community about the design, installation and operation of these facilities.

 

In response to calls from Council, the Carriers worked together to establish a standard set of documents to provide a more consistent approach from the industry. Now, all licensed mobile network carriers must comply with the requirements of the code.
